FAQs about the Karndean Rigid Core ranges.
In the case of the Karndean ranges, Rigid Core simply means that each plank or tile simply clicks together using a 2G or 5G locking mechanism, and is made of a plastic composite which are layered to provide the ultimate levels of stability. This in turn leads to a highly durable, low maintenance product.
Karndean Rigid Core, often referred to as Karndean click flooring, uses a click installation method with planks and tiles simply clicking into place, without the need for glue. This makes this type of product ideal for DIY projects. On the Glue Down ranges, as the name suggests, adhesive is required to attach each plank or tile to a professionally prepared subfloor.
Whilst Rigid Core consists of boards and tiles which click together and laid over the top of existing subfloors, LooseLay products use Karndean’s K-Wave friction grip backing which holds each tile or plank in place. LooseLay is a far better option for a temporary flooring solution and it’s easier to combine designs and styles too.
Karndean click vinyl flooring ranges from 4.5mm thick through to 6.5mm thick, depending on the range you choose. The Korlok range is home to our thickest Karndean click products.
