Why Choose Laminate Flooring?

Thanks to its durability, style options, easy care and great value options, laminate has become a popular choice of flooring for those looking for a DIY friendly flooring option or looking to renovate on a budget.

Budget Friendly

Laminate is one of the most affordable flooring options available with prices starting below £10 per m2 making it a great choice if you’re looking to renovate on a budget.  With a beautiful laminate you can achieve the look and feel of a real wood or stone floor at a much cheaper cost, plus they’re warm underfoot.

Great range of styles

With over 200 floors to choose from in wood, stone and herringbone effects, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect laminate for your next project.

Built to Last

Laminate flooring is known for its durability,  the wear layer resists scratches, stains, and fading, making it ideal for busy areas like hallways, living rooms, and kitchens. We even offer a great range of water resistant laminates that are a great choice for higher moisture rooms including bathrooms and utility rooms.  With proper care, your laminate can last for many years, some of our ranges come with a lifetime domestic warranty.

Simple Installation

Thanks to a click lock system that connects together without the need for nails or glue, laminate is an easy floor to install making it a perfect choice for DIY Projects.

Easy to Clean and Maintain

Laminate requires minimal upkeep, simply sweep or vacuum regularly using a hard floor attachment to keep your laminate looking great for years to come. This makes them an ideal choice for busy households.

Compatible with Underfloor Heating

Most laminate floors work well with underfloor heating systems. The material won’t warp under temperature changes, making it a smart choice for homes with this feature. Always check product specifications to confirm compatibility.

Where Can You Install Laminate Flooring?

Laminate works well almost anywhere in your home:

  • High-traffic areas: Hallways, living rooms, and dining rooms
  • Kitchens: Especially water-resistant varieties
  • Bedrooms: For comfortable, warm underfoot feeling
  • Bathrooms: Using waterproof laminate options
  • Stairs: Many laminate products are suitable for stairways
  • Basements: With proper moisture protection

Standard laminate shouldn’t be used in areas with high moisture exposure unless you choose water-resistant versions specifically designed for those spaces.

Laminate FAQs

Laminate is typically made of multiple layers of synthetic materials. The core layer is usually composed of high-density fibreboard (HDF) or medium-density fibreboard (MDF), while the top layer is a transparent protective layer known as the wear layer. The wear layer is designed to resist scratches, stains, and fading. Beneath the core layer, there is a decorative layer that features a high-resolution image of wood, stone, or other designs. Finally, there is an underlayment layer that provides stability, sound absorption, and moisture resistance. These layers are fused together using heat and pressure to create the laminate flooring planks.
