Floors, rooms and styles that just go perfectly together!
As February is the month of love we thought it would be the perfect time to discuss what flooring materials just go perfectly with certain rooms in the house, or with particular trends.
If you’re currently in the midst of renovating, moving house, or just fancy changing up your interior, then keep reading for some loved-up, inspirational ideas!
Luxury Vinyl Tiles with Bathrooms
We think Luxury Vinyl Tiles and bathrooms are the perfect match! Why? Mainly because vinyl tiles are waterproof and slip resistant, which is of course ideal for a bathroom environment.
Moreover, vinyl tiles are perfectly fine to be used with underfloor heating, and as the bathroom is one of the main rooms which people install underfloor heating in, it’s just another reason why they’re so compatible.

Bold Geometric Rugs with Laminate Flooring
Laminate flooring offers a clean and understated look, something that would look great in almost any room. However, sometimes laminate flooring can look cold and therefore make a room feel less cosy.
That’s why a beautiful rug completes a room which has laminate flooring – it adds warmth, style and colour. Currently, we especially like the look of a bold geometric rug against a fresh, laminate floor.
Nicola, Interior Designer for Vertical Blinds Direct, shares her opinion with us on great rug styles for 2017.
‘‘Rugs are a perfect way to complete a room and tie your décor together, as well as warming things up and making it more comfortable underfoot.
Styles to look out for this season are those that correlate and interact with the floor base; consider earthy colours on wood floor, or bold geometric lines against contemporary laminate.
Instead of the rug being a purely functional piece, it should be a point of interest and texture. Expect to see large rectangular shapes this year, which will look fantastic alongside our other modern furniture trends.’’

Authentic Wooden Floors with Living Rooms
Engineered and solid wood flooring have always been a popular choice for a living room, because they’re simple, elegant and versatile.
In the past, a fresh laminate floor has always been a popular choice for living room but lately more and more interior designers are embracing the look of a more authentic wooden floor, especially for the lounge.
Design expert, Jeffrey Welder, from Vant Panels shares his insight with us on the increase in popularity with rustic wooden floors in living rooms.
‘‘We are seeing the use of hardwood floors more in 2017, especially in great rooms. People are opting for larger planks in more unique woods like cherry, hickory and walnut.’’

Botanical Themes and Conservatories
Take inspiration from the outdoors by decorating your conservatory with a botanical theme!
A simple way to bring in the botanical theme to your conservatory is by adding in a rug, in brown or green with a leaf or flower pattern, and to shower your conservatory with plenty of plants and flowers.
Interior Trend Specialist, Ana Zuravliova, from Vertical Blinds, discussed with us the increasing popularity of botanical themes in 2017, especially for the conservatory.
‘‘Your conservatory and its contents need to be able to withstand extreme temperatures, but it should also look stylish.
Currently, we’re recommending a ‘botanical’ style of conservatory, which incorporates bold tropical prints, vibrant shades of green and wooden accents. This style works fabulously with large portions of glazing. whilst tying in the glass windows. ‘‘
