Interview with Jay Taylor, National Sales Manager of Distinctive Flooring

Could you briefly provide some background information on Distinctive Flooring?

Distinctive flooring has been running now for about 4 years, I have been with them for 18 months. They are part of Abingdon flooring one of the UK’s largest carpet manufactures

Could you tell us a little more about the products which you sell?

The vinyl tiles we have in our collection are some of the best on the market, we only use 0.55mm ware layers, this way we can ensure the product is right for the installation.

We have collections that are registered embossed and only contain virginal PVC, we also have new collections coming later in the year!

Which are your most popular products and why?

Obviously, we love all our collections!

If I had to pin point one, I would say ‘Signature’ because of the register embossing, the size of the tile and the fact that you can match it up with the herringbone design.

What products should we expect to see from Distinctive Flooring the future?

The new collection is called Artisan.

It’s a collection of wood and stone registered embosses and will be available in both a click and dry back.

In your opinion, what are the most popular flooring trends for 2017?

It’s hard to point at a particular trend, but we have noticed people wanting register embossed tiles for more of an authentic look.

Herringbone and half bond oaks are more popular than ever. The beauty of luxury vinyl tiles if that you can create your own bespoke floor.
